The Board of Directors of Villa Marconi Long Term Care Centre is dedicated to providing quality healthcare service and will commit fundraising efforts to this goal.

Villa Marconi is a 125 bed long term care facility that enjoys a reputation of providing quality care for its residents in a culturally sensitive, impeccably clean, spacious and bright facility. Villa Marconi fills a great need in the community.

It began with a group of citizens who understood the communities concern for the needs and well-being of its seniors. This concerned group formed the original Board of Directors and applied to the Ontario Ministry of Health for a Nursing Home License, approval was received in 1990. Over the next five years, consolidating community support, fundraising efforts and securing a suitable property were the focus of this group. In 1995, the old Convent of the Holy Cross was purchased, plans were drawn and renovations begun. Exceptional volunteers from the community donated their time and expertise to make this part of the vision a reality. In May 1999, Villa Marconi began operation of a 60-bed Long Term Care Facility. One year later, in May 2000, the Province of Ontario awarded an additional 65 beds to Villa Marconi and construction began once again on a new wing which opened in September 2001. The same year, Villa Marconi opened the new Marconi Centre, which provides barrier free access to the community centre and events hall.

Today, Villa Marconi continues on its successful path and the vision continues for tomorrow - the long term care facility, retirement housing, and a cultural centre all providing quality services.
